I've got a bench mounted belt sander which is a mega handy piece of kit but currently I cannot get the belt to stay on properly.
It's one of these:

When I bought it, I had the same problem, and no amount of adjusting the belt tracking adjuster (either direction) would help keep the belt on.
Eventually I removed some bits at the drive end of it to inspect them and see if they were straight etc. Could not find any issue so I reassembled and it suddenly was ok.
Now the belt is worn so I bought some new ones, and when I swapped to a new one, I'm back to square one!
Any ideas what can cause the belt to try and run straight off with a machine like this, regardless of the position the tracker knob is set to?
The belt doesn't actually come fully off, but it rapidly moves so it's about 30-50% on the machine.
Cheers!
