Belt grinding attachment?

would be overpriced even if u could get them . cheaper just to -get one with motor fitted and not an-- attachment

They possibly don't meet certain safety standards for the UK market... but that's only a guess.

Im struggling for space in my shed,it is very modest, it has to be a garage for my motorbike as well as a workshop. Theres just enough room to work on the bike in there.
I havent got room to keep anymore bulky tools, so it would be better if i can make something do more jobs.

Depending what part of the belt you would use... I had several 45mm diameter tubes, put 100mm lengths on 12mm shaft and epoxied 80, 600 and 1500 grit paper to them. Was very good for sharpening things.. not much help if you need the flat area of belt. Used in a cheap drill.

Id have a look to see how much the belts are first, Ive an air powered finger file and the belts are stupid money

Shox I stopped buying finger grinder belts & found a belt sander same length then split the belt to the size required

Good idea, thought the same myself. Luckily I can get hold of them, through an ex-firm they use tons of them so i can get a very good discount.

ive made both my belt--sanders to suit the belts a common size and ive bought loads real cheap

if you want something smaller I use a clarke cbs1-5 belt and disc sander. I got it for fine trimming of sheet metal for welding on cars, I've had it a few years now and havn't used a bench grinder since I got it. I have fitted it with a 100mm diamond grinding disc for sharpening carbide lathe tools. they don't even need to be bolted in place, when mine isnt being used, it lives on the top of a wet and dry vacuum cleaner

I used to have something like that, set it on fire a few times grinding metal.
The whole appeal of the attachment for the bench grinder is i wouldnt have to store it when its not being used as i already have a nice powerful 8" grinder.
Im at the point were i have to take things out of the shed to put new things in.

i know they are meant for wood, never set mine alight yet.
ive used it for metal too, but the fine dust that creates can do the bearing in on the sander.

indeed.

i started of with house and a garage, then got a 10x6 shed.
then managed to get another garage. ohh and another shed 8x6.
then a third garage....

so yes, three garages and two sheds

now i need a workshop
