I think it is called 'balata flat belt' or 'balata flat belting'. You will need to look at how to join it together - whether a sewn joint, scarfed and glued or alligator clip and pin.
Need width, thickness and circumference.

I have also read that a standard poly-vee belt can work acceptably on crowned flat belt pulleys.

A C Belting I normally deal with a chap called Jason, done some flat belts for my stationary engines.

The original is a 23mm wide x 2.5mm thick tough woven fabric belt, ends are sewn together. Has never slipped, the tensioner and pulleys on this drill are very good tho without having to over do it.
Ideally I need it 1150mm long. TBH I would prefer the same type material which I could cut to size and stitch up.
My old mum has stitched canvas sails to wedding dresses, leather boots & jackets - at one point me and my brother had to tell her to stop making us stuff as although they would survive a nuclear war they were not very trendy
at 91 she can't sow to well anymore but will be able to **** me round the head if I don't darn the joint tough enough.
I will give bearing boys a call as first option - thanks again gents

Poverty, she made her own wedding dress and her cousins as pretty talented at it and did not have a pot to p in. And fixed fis boat sails on the straights in the day

I think he was wondering why you'd sew a wedding dress to a sail, maybe the sail was a bit small and needed a bit extra?
