Hi guys i'm looking to start a little project of melting down old aluminum cans and molding something "not sure what yet" but i want to do it without using a hair dryer as most youtube videos use. I'm looking to find out were i could acquire a large bellow and if there is any links to videos or articles to show me a set up i am pretty new at this so any help is very welcome

not difficult to make.
I prefer the double acting japanese box bellows to the traditional
european sort - also easier to make.

why don't you want to use a hair dryer btw?
A hand driven squirrel cage blower from a blacksmithing forge is also a good alternative.

To anyone who does want to use an electric blower, get down your local car boot sale and pick up a cheap leaf blower, they also make economical dust / fume extractors.

Thanks for the replys guys im trying to do it with out and electrial help all manual if i can
Just for my own choice no real reason that and l always thought the hair dryers cost a fortune on electric. is there any links to how to make your own Japanese box bellow ill check youtube and see what i can find on the subject.

I made a portable forge for when I exhibited at country shows, I made a set of foot operated bellows from 3 plywood discs about 16" in diameter, joined with canvas strips each around 8" wide to make a 3 layer collapsible drum. The pieces of ply had clack valves with rubber gaskets (just flaps of steel over a 2" hole) as non return valves and it sat in a frame with the bottom fixed to the frame base and the top suspended by bungees from the frame top.
You operated it with your foot which was awkward while forging but I soon found I had a never ending queue of young willing volunteers to operate it.
When I stopped doing shows it sat outside under a sheet for ages till I passed it on to a mate I trained with. I think he might still have it, if so I will get him to take a picture.
