I had a nasty accident when chainsawing wood. Nothing to do with the chainsaw though. It was an old door frame with a copper strip tacked to it. Like an idiot I grabbed the strip and yanked. First one came off OK. 2nd one I didn't grip hard enough. 
Almost cut my fingers off. Very lucky it didn't sever any tendons. Won't do that again in a hurry. Stitches in fingers hurt!

I cut myself moderately badly (not A&E bad luckily) just picking up a ball of stainless swarf that I had previously hooked off with pliers or a spoke, snagged a bit hand slipped on the strands and caused instant lacerations.
super careful with the stuff since then.
Hope it all heals ok.

Something I used to do time and again when working on capstan lathes was poke the swarf down through the bed, between collet head and cross slide, using a file or piece of bar.... and catch a knuckle on a tool conveniently poking out of the tool post. I've lost track of the times I split a knuckle through all but to the bone, and as everybody in a machine shop knows, a knuckle cut takes forever to heal. Every time you grip something, your knuckle cut splits wide open again.

Would have been better with pliers, got a branch jammed between the chain and the cover. Pulled it out whilst the saw was still running hard. Ended up with a cut across the palm of my hand. Only done it onceYou lunatic, using a chainsaw with pliers

Obviously I have and my anger with myself was immense, I'm the "be safe guys" telling people why what they were about to do is dangerous.
Mostly climbers cutting at neck height. Or one handing as they lack the skill to get further out.
