I haven't had too much time to practice; having to work late but at leaset the overtime has meant I can afford to buy some 80/20 argon/CO2 and an auto darkening mask
Now I need to work out all new settings as the gas makes a big difference.
here is one of my first goes with the new kit, maybe not enough penetration.
As you can see I tried to weld a right angle, I tacked it together while holding it with a magnet ( it was nice and straight, a tack near each end ) I removed the magnet to weld it up welding and it looks like the weld has pull the two bits together.
Looks ok to me, were you using a pulse technique, i find i get on better with that on thinner stuff like thin small box section or sheet...looks much improved using the new gas
Thats a nice weld, the pattern suggests you are moving a little at a time instead of a constant movement, it's not important..still very nice, a weld many would be happy with.
