Beetle windows stuck up so you cant get in any solutions?

Winchgirl has a 10 year old Beetle.
When you unlock the door the window drops a few MM to allow the door to open so it was frozen solid this morning so wind wouldn't drop to allow door to open.
Any one else had this issue and know of a successful fix?

I used to use silicone spray I think. Might be better stuff available though?

I said this but some one on a VW forum managed the windows with this no idea how but I assume they put too much on?

I use dash cleaner on sticky windows, works well. I was told that the stuff you put on fly lines to make it float works too

There is a stick of something like a deodorant stick for lubricating the rubbers to stop this, can’t recall the name though. Got some in the shed, I’ll try to find it tomorrow for you.

Wurth silicone spray can is good for this, comes with a pointy nozzle and a straw nozzle.

Mrs & daughter both have the non classic convertibles.
They are getting on but window, door, boot problems are a pain on both. Assembled in south America I think, overly complicated and poor quality parts/build.

Lidl silicon oil works very well and lasts longer than silicon spray.

I have seen a windshield blanket of sorts with magnets to keep ice/frost off, maybe same for the door window ?

I'm sure I read somewhere that applying petroleum jelly / vaseline onto door rubbers is supposed to rejuvenate the seal and provide a better seal. You'd have thought that it ought to alleviate the rubber sticking to glass also?

I used to used spray can furniture polish, on the seals and door seemed to do the job
