Make sure to leave them plenty -there’s a lot of bees to feed

We always leave at least one super on, and give them some extracted supers for space and to fill, and we are coming into the June/July gap.
We nadir a super for them to over winter as well.

Are they in a cavilty wall, or have they just found some space in the loft/behind the facia board?

Not sure, but I’d guess they’re in the porch bit, either behind the wall or in the roof. I had a listen with a glass to the wall, but couldn’t make out a position.

how dark was the sky when they were flying

See the first photo - that was about it, in a dome around me. I didn’t feel threatened at all - they gave the impression of just milling around, waiting their turn to go inside.

On the other side, there was a wasp nest under the slates. Will the bees chase them away? Hope so. Bloody wasps - I’ve just set fire to a nest with the MAPP gas, and had to leg it.
