I used to spend an hour or two straightening the rad fins on my yz 250f with two small screwdrivers.

I used to have one too , my overheating problems started when I fitted an auto clutch .

To try and reduce the temp i also made some aluminium guards the same as the front louvres. They also had an extension scoop over the top and bottom. If the bike was standing still they helped to radiate some more of the heat.

That's the problem with enduro , not a lot of times you can get a lot of air thought the rads , do you have any pics of your mods

just got a couple of pics....They're a bit rough but worked ok.....used them for a good few seasons before i called it a day.

The top and bottom parts were folded back a bit and touched the rad to get a bit more heat transfer.

It was only MX in the AMCA. But i did like to fiddle around with the bike a bit.

I always raced acu , only as high as B class top 10 though , seems there are quite a few guys on here who raced bikes

I did ride ACU for about a year around 1983-84.....I remember racing somewhere around Stroud and a bloke called Herring must have lapped me about 3 times...could have been more

Iv only done a couple of events since getting into enduro , so no unless thats a trick question lol , my mate will know of him if he races enduro , he seems to know all the top guys

No ...i don't think there were many there on the day and they ran a few different classes together.
