bathroom does need a bolt lock whilst the bedrooms dontRight quick question.
New tennants in my flat would like locks on the bedroom doors.
I was going to drill and chisle out for lever mortice locks but I am thinking yale type night latch might be quicker and easier to fit.
The doors are knotty pine and I dont see them chisling well!
What do you people think?
i wouldnt allow it so they would get a leave notice impliedA couple are sharing with a friend, I can only presume the wife dont trust the friend so much! She asked for a lock on the bathroom also this I will just fit a simple slide bolt. But the bedrooms need a proper lock with a key.
that type of lock is the only one id allow for internal doors to be locked as less damage with itRimlocks used to be available with various offsets, the distance between the door edge and the hole for the handle. It doesn't look to be specified on the rimlocks I've looked at for this thread.
oh yes they all signed they are all resposible for the rent not a third each you know the drill.i dont mind shared rental but it does come with issues usually when one decides to give up there half of the rent
you find alot of students will share a house with others and thats generally when locks are requested for bedrooms but each tennant is signed on the form of rental agreement
it does happen with adults as well
they do look easy to fit, I like those. I bet they are a bit more expensive than the rim locks I just [urchased. They would be nice in my own home! The instructions for fitting those AM60 magnetic, tubular mortice locks I mentioned. Doddle to install:
