Planer job
I think it's too deep mate. Might be worth giving it a tickle so it's a bit flatter thoughPlaner job
Thanks Paul I'd not seen that, I'll have a read through.Hi Brad, probably will not be a lot of new stuff to a man of your experience but here is a link to the strip down of mine. https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=91397
Some particularly obstinate parts of the table leadscrew had me foxed for a while
Cheers,
Paul
I think your one is a bit later than mine, is it a mk2?Hi Brad, probably will not be a lot of new stuff to a man of your experience but here is a link to the strip down of mine. https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=91397

It's had a lot of use, in one section of the table.Other than the table and the few abused bits that looks like it has the potential to be a really nice machine - never seen one with the frosting still intact.
It can't have had a lot of use.
and you don't want a nasty crack in your beaver do you!Lol at the grease build up, BTDT. Nasty crack starting on the head housing.
No chance of getting a file in there. It's a pocket down in a bore.If it's just pry marks just run a flat file across it. Less chance of changing the geometry.
Out of interest why have you stripped it down? Was there noticable wear, was the noise the quill spline sloppy?
