Bearing race removal

ignore my previous posting, i had drank some 'rum de guadeloupe'....

just a thought...is the tube the same size externally from one end to the other or actually smaller externally through the middle section?

if it's equal sized along it's external length then maybe the reduced internal bit is a long spacer which you could hit instead to drive the bearing out.

Well all bushes finally out and leart a few things doing that !

Big thanks to everyone that gave ideas and solutions to getting them out

Seems there are two in each side - one looks to be the bearing and the other seems to be the grease ring / spreader. More suprising though is that they are both plastic !

The play is on the inside of the outer rings so im going to try and get a set of them but where the hell do you get these special plastic bearings from or where would make them ?

Cleaned bare spindle that now does not look too bad so will get a light sand / polish :

Well the hit it from behind was a no no due to not having enough of a lip on the back and the general access angles involved.

The puller / slide hammer methods worked the best and got 3 of them out but one of them had to be broken up in the axle and then removed and that was when I realised they were plastic - before that I thought they were a very soft metal

Basically it was the puller / washer idea to get more space behind it so that once I could get a good grasp on it it was down to the slide hammer
