Do you think this can be reused if packed with grease?

This is the best bearing out of 8 on a Hay wagon I am helping my friend restore.

Oddly it was the hub what was the one running with out any noise or wobble.
Yes that is how it fell out of the hub, I have not even wiped it down.

Looks like the bearings were under-specced. Is there room to pair them up?

The issue was some one fitted metric sized bearings into a imperial hole.
They should of bean EE9 (2"od x1" Bore by 3/8 width)

Fitted 51mm by 26mm by 10mm. not fitted fully home and not greased.

The one in my grand daughter's Ka rear wheel came out in more pieces than that last Monday

I should think that about 75% of the bearings I replace are in tiny pieces by the time I get to the shop.
Often because they've been run until the balls have all escaped or because it's required disintegration to remove it.

That was the best of the 8.
Well the only one what resembled a bearing, the rest ended up as bits of metal or grinding dust.

It was one I took to my bearing supplier to get new replacements, hence why I now know what should of bean in the hubs were EE9 not the metric size shown.

Typical farm repairs, it's a wonder it hadn't got some bailer twine in there to pack it out a bit as well If it's only going behind a tractor it's probably lasted years like that.

Going off at a tangent (thread hijack, sorry ), how critical is it that a motor with roller bearings rotates in the correct direction i.e. the direction indicated by the arrows on the casing? I think it is important but colleagues disagree. WE have to swap on of two vibrating conveyor motors this week and after a direction-of-rotation check on the new one and a swap of two cables we had it going in the direction of the arrow, only to find the conveyor wouldn't (convey I mean) as the vibrations were cancelling each other out. I checked the already fitted one to find it was rotating the wrong way, meaning both original motors must have been, but the maintenance guys swapped the cables on the new one declaring "that's how it was fitted so there must be a reason". I think they should rotate the 'right' way so that if we get another failure we can claim on the warranty without being quizzed on it, what say you all?
Returning to the post topic, bin 'em if it's a resto, fit the correct ones

I didn't think the arrows on bearings related to direction (at least not on "general" type bearings, special types may be different?).

Those arrows are "Broad Arrows" you are thinking about. it does not mean the direction is into your pocket.

But seriously some bearings will have a Direction arrow, but they are few and far between.
You may recall the issue with the 996.

Ha ha not seen one of "those" arrows in a while (apart from the one on my set of smally adjustables, Ahem...).

Sorry, I will clarify, the indicator arrows are on the outer casing of the vibrating motor unit, not the bearings, sorry for the confusion
