I used to get held at arms length and washed off with a hosepipe
Outside and in Winter?

I used to get held at arms length and washed off with a hosepipe

my daughter had the bath ripped out and i put a walk in shower inFriends daughter bought her first house a couple of years ago. One of the first things she did was have the shower ripped out and a bath fitted.

You can always rent it for a year or two ...That sums it up I think. Bearable.
A proper walk in shower is so much nicer and safer.
Best bet as people say is to ask the local estate agents.
I don't plan on living there - just want to do the place up nicely.
You can guarantee the housing market will collapse as soon as it is ready![]()
If you only have room for one fit a shower bathDoing up my semi derelict old house to sell.
3 bedroom semi. Rooms pretty big but bathroom tiny.
I would like to install a nice big shower like this - walk in.
But then it would mean no bath.
Is it hard to sell a house with no bath these days?
Or better off just doing the usual. Shower over the bath?

My parents had one of those stupid baths-with-a-door in fitted to their place, as they are both elderly. Never occurred to them that they could only actually run a hot bath once they were sat in it. Never a pleasant experience. They both blame each other for the decision......id rather fit a wet room and also fit a bath in there as well
the best of all worlds
I put two of those in my dads shower last year, a couple in the downstairs toilet, and a couple more on his bedroom wall near his bed.If you go with shower over bath, be sure to install a really good handle on the wall, which greatly helps oldies climbing out of the shower, or even the bath. I installed one which is about 12" high and about and inch diameter, and has a "knurled" surface. Each end has three screws holding it in place and a I made a major effort to get screws and fixings which did the job. It's been there for many years now and is still rock-solid. I can hold that, while exiting, absolutely confident it is secure. Non-slip adhesive tape on the floor of the bath is also good.
I think that at the back of my mind I have the story of my very elderly father finding himself unable to get himself out of the bath, not even with my mother's help, and they had to get my sister involved (I live much too far away to help).
