Barrier cream - pros / cons / any recos

I got dermatitis as kid from playing about with motorbike engines. Started as rash between the fingers, then tiny painful blisters and cracked skin between the fingers and palm. It took around a decade for it to fully clear up as it would flare up even when I started using barrier cream, which was Swarfega, then whatever the MOD had - probably still Swarfega. I now use Neutragena hand cream before putting on Nitrile gloves, latex tends to split with oils. Any dirt you’d u do manage to get on your hands washes off easily afterwards.

Neutrogena is the best hand cream to soften sore skin after cleaning its not greasy and doesn't wash off when your using water

It was a tyre fitter mate who put me onto Neutragena. As you said it’s not greasy so you can put gloves on after apply it. Key with any kind of barrier cream is to rub it right in between the fingers and in the creases

If you do mess your hands up with ingrained dirt/oil/grease (or often in my case, cured concrete slurry from wire sawing) get a huge dollop of E45 and slather it on your hands then wear nitrile gloves on top for as long as you can suffer it. It will lift out all the dirt and turn your skin baby-soft.

If I get a bout of excema ,I use udder cream from the farmers co-op,it’s 99% parrafin.
