I agree response should be prompt. I always get back to people through the available email system the same day. Lots and lots people don't give phone numbers out on public adverts. They ain't all scamming for a few hundred quid.

Suppose its down to how careful you are with your details etc.. people can do all sorts with just your phone number and email address nowadays. I.e. sign you up for REAL dodgy websites

Mailed the seller of the Murex yesterday morning, and up to now no response. Even if the sale is genuine, I tend not to bother with sellers unable to provide any method of contacting them.

you do realise that these people probably have jobs, and families to deal with during their day...im all for being quick when someone asks me a question about something i have for sale but if i have something that needs to get done then the questions will have to wait, if the buyer doesnt like that then they can buy off someone else.

are you actually interested in buying the welder or are you just sending him messages purely to try and prove yourself right about it being a scam?

Was very interested in the welder, and dont mess people about, as I know only too well what thats like myself. But never had much luck with sellers who cant be contacted in the past, so dont ever deal with these types now.

Unreliable machines like that from a company that won't/can't support anything older than 10 years don't get me excited as a used purchase.

For a watercooled ac tig I think it's an okay deal Jim.the lack of adjustable arc force let's it down when I used one for stick welding pipe though

I agree, the price is ok, but I'd not touch another one of those machines personally. They seem a touch temperamental in my experience.

I could be wrong but I believe Tigpaul uses The Stel 201 day in day out for his Tig fabrications.
That's a good enough review of it in my eyes.

It may weld beautifully (it does) but I've had to repair more of these than I would've liked.

They do weld nice and yes I've also heard a few horror stories on them failing. Wouldn't stop me though I'd buy a lanica delta Evo11 intergaralie if I had the 30k price tag which really are Italian reliable.
