The trouble is, I know me - and me wouldn't have anything "surplus to requirements".

Missed that . I have no experience with Bowland - "cos I tried", have you dealt with them before?

I have my doubts to the true value.

The grinder is not included, the files look well shot, G clamps feet missing, the well used mallets can be picked up for 50p at car boots and even large stillsons can be got for a fiver.

Some decent stuff but when you remove the rubbish the price is not as attractive.

I have alao tried but did buy some stuff. Ok to deal with when collecting but not for delivery. They must lose so much due to high postage charges.

I've bought a few things from Bowland Trading over the years - never any bother.

The delivery charge is £60 + VAT - not far off standard pallet price and a bloke an hour or so to pack up, band/shrink wrap etc - Not bad when you consider you can get up to a tonne shifted for that price.

I bought my Arboga drill from Bowland, paid for two pallet delivery so that it was sent lying down. It arrived lying down but had been sent standing on one pallet when sent
I emailed them and within minutes they phoned me back, apologised for the poor delivery and gave me a full refund immediately as the Arboga was badly damaged. As it had cost me nothing I spent time repairing it and luckily the bit I was most concerned about, the integral motors spindle, straightened easily so I was happy. Then again I would have been happier had they sent the way I paid for and it arrived undamaged but at least it showed me they weren't total gangsters like a lot of machinery dealers can be.

Those Ward and Payne woodworking vices are crap, I used to have one. I robbed it for its qr mechanism to bodge a fix on a Woden, sold the Woden for more than I bought it for and the WP for the same price I got it haha

I am late to this post.

I have dealt with that place last year.
Job lot of tools, 60% was going to be useful for my needs and friends. The rest was going to be sold on.

It took 4 attempts to get all the parts sent to me.
The first parcel did not contain all the parts as advertised.
The second contained parts what was nor originally advertised.
The third contained had some of the missing parts and duplicates.
The forth, al last, had all the parts listed in the original advert.

Now, during the time it took to get the order right there was some "Heated exchanges". But in the end it was all resolved and pleasant words exchanged. Once I had got hold of some one in charge, exchanging e mails and pictures we worked out a solution.


Oh yes, got to keep all the extras.
