This is my Christmas present off the kids..it means i get what I want ,they save a tenner between them and they don't spend more than twenty quid each which would annoy me.How much!!!
Glad I don't drink spirits.
Just got to leave it alone now..
hide it under the machine mart catalogue.Repeat after me "Must resist.....must resist....much resist"![]()
A litre??Asda do a passable dark rum for £11 a bottle.
75clA litre??
It does seem to divide opinion,I love the intense peatyness,i had the first bottle given me,my mechanic mate got given it as part payment for a job and he couldn't stand it, I struggled on manfully with my freebie and halfway down started to get a taste for it..I was bought a bottle of Ardbeg about 15 years ago and I thought it was foul, I only managed to get through a 1/4 of the bottle. I gave it to someone else, they weren't keen either. I do like other malt whiskies but I don't think I'll be trying Ardbeg again.
I sound like I do a bottle a week, a bottle can last me monthsIt does seem to divide opinion,I love the intense peatyness,i had the first bottle given me,my mechanic mate got given it as part payment for a job and he couldn't stand it, I struggled on manfully with my freebie and halfway down started to get a taste for it..
I only go for Bowmores ,laphroaigh or other smelly brews now.. you can tell im a conner sewer.
For me it's a proper luxury,we are not exactly flush with money so it's a big expense so its usually Christmas and birthdays so I do savour the experience and try to learn about the whole whiskey thing.I like most types of whisky, I tend to go through phases where sometimes I prefer stronger ones and other times the milder ones, like a speyside. It’s an excuse to keep a couple of bottles on the go
Of the Islay ones I like ardbeg, lagavulen and laphraoig - and though not a true Islay (though it has a very smokey taste) my favourite is probably talisker. Caiol Isla is nice too, in fact there isn’t many I don’t like come to think about it![]()
