I agree too, but until their reputation is on the same plane as the established competition there needs to be some daylight between the prices to encourage customers to make the leap of faith required to try something new. I'm not saying it needs to be much cheaper, but a price break for quantity orders like EWM do would certainly help.

In triangular wave it's about the quietest set I've had my hands on, and the EWM is truly superb but not quite as smooth in that mode. More power though and better build quality still (imo) but less to choose between then than there was.

I've not actually tried the Pearl since we rejected the first batch that had synergic line issues. It's been resolved and I have two sat on a shelf behind the counter that I haven't got round to trying for myself yet.

Nah, sounds like you're describing Dave Meredith the Parweld rep. Another brilliant chap imo.

I used the Multi Pearl 200-2 which was my favourite small synergic MIG, laid a beautiful fillet weld on some 4MM mild. I think it even outdid the Oerlikon CitoMIG 200MP that I used.
I've got a demo lined up next with a local customer for one of the Mutli Pearl 200-4 XL models on 2MM aluminium.. Thats going to be a treat, ally MIG ain't my strong point. I might just show him how it works and let him do the actual welding.

Dave, that's it, I always call him "Hello" when I see him, terrible memory for some people names, but others stick like glue, odd.

Lol always a good fall-back option, but id the customer makes a hash of it he usually doesn't buy! Best to put some sneaky practice in before you go. Use ally tips and a Teflon liner too, snarl ups on a demo are very damaging to customers perceptions.

Couldn't agree more. GYS have made such big leaps in such a short space of time it takes more convincing to end users to see and be tempted to change from high end equipment brands to brands they once knew at lower end of the market. Therefor the prices should be kept a sensible distance from the likes of Ewm etc until the establishment is more "common knowledge". It will take years if not decades for them to be seen in the same light as EWM given I can't even remember a single bad product from EWM and ive been in the game a little while now but full credit to Gys they have moved like lighting with there game changing stuff about nowadays.

Very true, AFAIK he's a very experienced blacksmith with plenty of ally MIG under his belt so he should be fine once i've ran through the synergic interface etc..

I'm saying nothing derogatory here but it's easier and less costly to catch up, than forge a new path. Once the technology is out there it's easier to see how someone else has addressed a problem and come up with your own solution for overcoming it. Not to take anything away fro GYS and the enormous leaps they have made, but doing it right first time takes a lot more work.

It's the job of the dealer network and GYS's own sales force to change customer perception as fast as possible, we are making steady progress, but it's slow release, we don't let anything leave her until we are fully happy with it. There have been a few machines we felt were a little under developed and have delayed taking them on-board until they are ready. We have been invited out to the factory to give some input to the final touches on the Neopulse set as we have had some teething problems here, mainly to do with the start characteristic, once it's up and running its buttery smooth. I have to give full credit to them however, they take the feedback on board and respond VERY quickly with updates/changes. Bruno is incredibly focused on continuous improvement.

Getting more industrial (grey) machines out is key, once they start becoming a common sight on refinery shut downs, power stations, in shipyards, pipelines and major construction sites with national rental companies the sales will snowball from there. The new CC/CV Exagon range will hopefully find some homes in some of the above applications.

Not much more to discuss on them really. You either buy them for £100 or less and get a couple cables made up or bought from frony or you let them go. If that cooler is salvageable you've got your money's worth really. If I was gonna have a stab Id buy them and clean them up, spend a £150 on two cables from jim and flog em as complete for £200 each then Id strip the cooler of all its good bits and rebuild it in an alu box all new and clean and laid out to sit a tig set on top and flog that for a good £250. I would expect with that lot and a full days work I could make easy £400 in my pocket based on what I've sold similar items for. The gamble is if the pedals actually work and if the cooler pump isn't shot. For £100 it's a gamble Id happily take on. Don't worry Hugh I simply don't have the time to take on extra little projects on but get in quick cos someone will snap em up.

Those pedals need the metal work sanding up and the ridged rubber mat pulling off then spraying in satin black and 2-3 coats of clear. The ridged rubber is just tool box matting, I have loads so Id replace that, 2 new stickers on the sides and they will photograph like new items. Complete with cables they will sell for easy £200 each maybe £250. I bought mine new for over £500 with a cable.
The cooler just needs time which is something I don't have atm but if I did I would transform it into a completely different lay out in a lovely vented aluminium box and sell it at a good price all sprayed up. A day maybe day and a half to do it all if everything is working and complete. It's a very good buy for someone with a little thought and time to get the best out of it.

After checking with Hugh first. I have gone and I picked up this little lot as I couldn't bear to see it sitting there any longer 20 miles from my home.
The pedals. They are not TR52's for the magic waves 2000 and trans tigs 2000 they are TR2200FM's for the current range of magicwaves 1700,2200,3000 etc which is great cos they'll be far more appealing to more people. They do look in a real Shabby state on the outside with been kicked about the floor but I'll see to that. @Jim Davey could u quote me a couple of 5mtr cables inc vat and do you know if the cables are all a standard type or All different depending on the pedal model cos I have no idea tbh. Id assume all the same as the remote cables work for various Fronius remotes so Id guess all 10 pins are used in the cable and the remote itself uses the pins it needs perhaps?????. The cooler wouldn't pump water but a little strip down reveals the pump works spot on and there is just a blockage so that's good news. Mig torch is a little Binzel in decent nick. Worth #### all really. So overall for 85 quid providing those pedals work I'll do well out of it.
