I'm prepping my Saab 96 V4 for spraying. I was hoping to get away with just keying the top layer, but unfortunately I realise that things are not so good under the skin once I start sanding. This means I'm going to have to go down to bare metal. As I'm not going to be ready for a few weeks, what can I put on the bare steel to protect it from the demon rust. I don't want to use etch primer as I will have to sand it all off again or God forbid WD40 for obvious reasons, I just need something I can wipe on and wipe off with panel wipe or thinners etc. Any ideas chaps?
