well i spent 4.5 hours reading about saws last night, and it doesnt seem there is an end in sight.
I think I've narrowed it down to -
a 6x4 bandsaw that i can then improve and modify according to my needs, or,
I also noticed the evolution rage series of universal saws.
first things first, I'm not pretending to know much about this stuff! a novice here be.
I used a bandsaw in a previous job many moons ago, at the time i was 20 years old and the bandsaw was slow = boring, lol.
now they seem dead interesting )
so, what do i want it for. well I'm building a camper truck, and I'm intending using lots of aluminium.
besides the truck I'd never use aluminium, its mild steel all the way. So those are my criteria, to be able to cut mild steel and aluminium.
also, i cant go buying heavy machinery because I move regularly, so something light and smallish would be good. the 4x6 bandsaws ive seen look light enough, and can be broken down into 2 parts (base and saw) for transportation.
the evolution rage seem, hmmm, they seem like a very smart tool.
I'm thinking something like this, would give me all sorts of options when it comes to angles and materials...
what think ye?
