Bandsaw blade tpi - which one?

hi whats the best all round tpi i need,
i cut
box section
40x40x3
50x50x3/5
50x75x3mm

solid rounds
15
25
30
and sometimes 50mm very rare only when i need a piece for the lathe

hollow rounds
50x3
100x3mm

angle
50x50x5

flat
50x5
50x10
100x6

i have a 2451-27-0.90 8/12 in it now and it cuts everything i want it to but i have never used a different tpi so cannot compare it to anything else.

Hi, most newer blades are now variable teeth it seems..........
I just bought some cobalt/hss bandsaw blades from sales@tuffsaws.co.uk....3/4x90".....a very good price and quick delivery......
perhaps look at his web site.......he will answer questions........

As an “all round” 1 blade for all your on the money with 8-12 vari pitch.
If you wanted to maximise the saws potential you would have two blades for what you were cutting.
Around 6tpi for those solid bars and 10-14 for the tubular stuff with the 3mm wall.
This would also allow to cut 1.5-2mm wall if needed where the 8-12 would maybe snatch a bit.
For your gages above you have have selected a good blade to cover the lot. I wouldn’t go any thinner wall with it mind and I’d imagine it is slow going on the 50mm bar.

I use 14tpi in my (cheapo) metal cutting bandsaw.
I only cut up to 4mm regularly though.
Occasionally 6mm, and seldom 16mm
And once a 50mm round. (Into 20of 3" lengths)
It cuts them all - thicker stuff more slowly.

For the price of a blade, it's worth buying several blades to match the different thicknesses.
Or by an evolution chop saw for the thinner stuff?

last one i bought from them the blade use to judder when it went through the guides i have spoken to them and they said its should not do that maybe a faulty weld if i have any issues just to let them know.

Just ordered a couple from tuffsaw for my Elu.
Bit more expensive than the starret ones from screwfix (woodcutting blades), but I have high hopes.

Tuffsaw blades are usually starret.
Mine always are anyway

I used to get blades from a mate who worked at a place where they made them up.
Paid a tenner for 5, so have never bought full price ones before.
He's retired now

I cut the same selection of steel as you & Tuff saws recommended a 10-14 m42 varitooth blade for everything but switching to a 6 or 8 tpi if I wanted to cut the solid bar a bit quicker.

He's a gent to deal with, good prices & he stands over his work. I had some blades that snapped at the weld, likely due to a poor setup on the saw. I send him an e-mail for some advice, he asked me to return the blades, he inspected them, rewelded them & returned them in a few days, all FOC! He even gave me advice on what could be causing the breakages, I'm fairly certain it wasn't the fault of the blades!

I had one break on the first installation
This was a bad flash butt. I explained to him my saw was down with out it’s blade and he just sent a new one next day.
He’s a Top man.
