I'm not a fan of small bandsaws I would agree with the abrasive chop saw option I have a dewalt one that I have had for years and done a lot of cutting with and still use it a lot for cutting round bar for railings etc,but they are not great for mitres. For bigger stuff I have a Manchester rapidor donkey saw, cost 150 yonks ago runs all day quite often and cuts true a proper machine not some thing made of cast monkey metal and tin.

I've got a FEMI 780 XL, had it a couple of years now as its been superseded, trouble free QUIET straight cuts , well happy with mine.
One bit of advice, buy good bi metal saw blades as the el cheapo ones are awful.

I think it was from a company called saw craft I gave them a call there number is on their website www.sawcraft.co.uk. If I remember rightly.
