Well I bit the bullet and got myself a decent printer. Decent as in spectacularly fast and with automatic filament changes. The Ender was amazing but dog slow...
Plan is to make and sell. So pretty much will be tat sorry to say, the interesting tools and mechanisms will have to wait, this thing owes me money!
So first off DEADPOOL..
Not super happy with the red, the orange is better in all respects (Prusa filament) and I may need to dial in the temperature for this particular (SUNLU) filament. As a test piece for the design (knocked out in Sketchup) I am not too unhappy with it.
Much happier with htis attempt:
Worked first time with a few export errors from Sketchup, easily fixed and printed first time!
Getting multiple colours to slice properly is a bit of a chore if like me, you don't want to generate 75% waste in purges. Plus each filament swap takes time. This is a 1 hour 20 minute print (200mm wide).
I am happy with it and I can think of at least one five year old who is going to be even more happy!
I might stick it in a light box but once I get the yellow filament (this one is a prototype) I should stick it on Etsy...
Wish me luck.
