I was on a hot works/gas safety course at work yesterday and whilst assembling a regulator/hose/torch on oxy/propane cylinders it suddenly occurred to me that everyone was referring to the hoses as 'hoses'. (start Hovis advert music) Now, when I were a lad doin' me apprenticeship gas hoses were almost universally referred to as bagging (or baggin' for the grammatically correct).
Being as I was an apprentice and not meant to ask many questions I never did ask why, and I'm sure that most of the blokes I worked with wouldn't have known either, but do any of you have any idea where this slang originates from please?![smile :) :)](/forum/styles/smilies/smile.gif)
