my wife found these badges in her grandads and nans house after they died but he was only in the navy after ww2 so can't be his assume these are raf badges due to the propeller wondered if there earlier maybe there parents ?? just trying to find out some info as googles not really coming close on the same badge and thought there prob a few on here that's in to milatery

Those are Royal Navy stoker insignia...

You've got them upside down

Cheers guys would there be a difference in red to the gold one being leader to 1st or would that be from another ship ??

as far as I can see the gold one was kept for the best uniform and red everyday uniform

We believe that he trained the young uns at shotley on the ganges for many years to be good to find out more info

The gold is for best uniform (no.1's) and I think the red badges were for no.2's used on the bridge at harbour stations or at specials in the control room. Was before my time so may be wrong.
