Well we had various power cuts and lost internet/phone for nearly 24 hours until about 30 mins ago.
Got about 5-6" of snow also

LOL! and if the global warming stops warming for a while, just "re-brand" it as "climate change" and make even more money! Then you can blame just about any weather event on "climate change".

Thankfully, we have normal spring weather here in kent today.

Hmmmm, Im agnostic about the whole climate change thing, though tbh if you took all the carbon thats ever been made on earth and then suddenly dump it into the atmosphere that must have some effect? I think you might be right in the govmnt trying to make money off it (taxes n that,another short term blag) but then if you look at a lot of the climate sceptic scientists alot of them seem to work for companys like Exxon n Shell! I saw some footage of the earth from orbit the other day and over parts of asia and south America all you can see is massive plumes of smoke! We're having a normal spring day here in Wales. freezing cold and p**sin down!

I'd not let governments on the tax raising bandwagon, or oil company propaganda influence your thoughts on climate change. Even if that is the only info available to most newspapers.

If there is a problem it's going to be much more of a problem for our kids than for us. Already we are making life difficult for our kids - they'll struggle paying for an education, getting a job, or buying a house, so it seems unfair for us to use up all the oil and risk this climate change thing that nobody seems to clearly understand.

Accepting that year to year variation and the freak weather we have been having are probably noise in the grand scheme of things, here's a picture of a beach in Barcelona a friend sent to me.

Oh had great fun yesterday

Power out at 5:30am

Left for work at 6:45am in this

Got stuck in snow drift so borrowed the neighbours all terrain forklift

Pulled the landrover out, then tried the other road out and got stuck again but managed to get out.

gave up and went home

Got a call from the neighbour at 10am as he had fitted the snowplough to his forklift and got it stuck. So got his tractor to pull it out and that got stuck.

So spent a few hours with the JCB digging it out and the tractor

Finally got out via the third road to get some petrol for the genny and had to half rewire the house to get the heating working.

Sometimes living in the country really sucks

Wasted 3 hours clearing windblown-drifts further down the hilly driveway.

.....but, at least the dogs enjoyed it.

I came out this morning to cycle 9 miles to work, the bloody sun was shining, had a beautiful ride in spotted two hares eyeing each other up for a boxing match, always wanted to see this after 10 minutes freezing to death they spotted me and ran off, damn damn damn. Almost saw then do their stuff. Got to rain and ****** down all day. Got soaked and froze on the way back.

Yesterday I walked out the front door, talking to myself as usual, ******* ****** the *** weather etc etc, Oh Mrs neighbour is looking at me. Ho Hum.

The mighty river Tweed has burst its banks due to the melting snow and loads of rain we've had lately,just had to drive (slowly) through about 6-7" water on the main road to peebles.
