Bad choice ?

Hello all, just got myself a gys inverter today. Was this a bad move ???

Hmmm... certainly not one of the better machines, but better represented in the UK than some of the direct Far Eastern junk so you should be OK

Fingers crossed then, on hindsite i should have asked on here before buying. But the price was a good one, lets hope the product is up to it.

Horses for courses... if you've given little money for it & it will be used very little you should be fine... just don't expect professional performance (a lot of "professionals" are trying to get away with this type of stuff nowadays )

I suppose the problem is how i go about sorting it out if it does go wrong. I bought the gys 143 inverter.

When it goes wrong it's throw-away but I wouldn't worry if you've given little money & it's for light use, you will probably get your monies worth.

Chinese. Cheap, get what you pay for & all that. I hope you have warranty cover? Sling it back for a refund & get yourself something decent. One of the best on the market without spending top dollar are the British made Inverter Fusion machines; ironically, I notice they have recently started selling GYS machines on their 'retail' website... everybody caving in to price pressures it seems

Welder went back yesturday, have a years warranty on it. I would like my money back 430 quid is 430 quid after all.

Inverter Fusion are supposed to be very good. Irondarren has one and rates it very highly. Ask weldequip for some specs and prices.
