No further luck I have a national newspaper reporter friend always looking for a good story....
after that go to small claims court.....
Still no further action.....
phone the TV companies and set fire to it on their forecourt.....

This is probably the first step. As the finance company owns the vehicle, it may be them that you need to sue but I am not sure without checking facts.

Surely that depends on circumstances what if for talking sakes it wasn’t a 100% finance deal, and there was money invested whether in cash or trade in.
Rejecting the van could make it difficult to get that back.

I would have thought an independent writen assesment of the van asap would be a first step.

A friend's Transit had water in the passenger footwell and it was an aircon pipe causing the problem. He had previously thought it was the screen leaking but it was replaced due to a crack and still let water in. Good luck getting yours sorted or swapped.

Pretty sure the 6mth thing is where you need to be heading, I can remember reading on a used car dealers forum that they were most dismayed that the general public were up to speed on what their rights were.
The general opinion from other dealers was, save yourself the hassle and give them their money back.

I have found that all these aftermarket used vehicle warranties are not worth the paper they are written on.
Knowing how Transits rust the front footwells and suspension mounts, I would get rid of it if you can. As said, its a finance company thing, and maybe a trip to trading standards, to officially "register" your complaint.
All a pain, who needs the hassle.

I have not used a finance company before but may suggest that no matter what they are telling you it may be prudent to sent them an email and cc Ford UK and the vending dealer advising the vehicle is not fit for purpose and you have no choice but to withhold payments effective immediately until action is taken to rectify the issues.

That may be the only way to concentrate their minds when they know the money is withheld.

It will negatively affect you credit score if you default on payment.

terll finance company they can come and collect the vehicle as your not paying another penny for something not fit for purpose.. the finance company owns the vehicle not you. let them sort it out with the garage to fix the vehicle or take it back.. then get onto a solictor straight away about this and put it in their hands no win no fee etc...... or take the van and torch it.. its going to be scrap in no time with the wet floor.....

The problem is what they do now is, instead of repairing everything and getting the vehicle good for the customer to inspect, and costing them money up front - they slap a warranty on it, tidy up the paint and wheels so it looks reasonable, and then anything you find on a test drive they'll hand wave away as 'we'll fix it when you buy it under warranty'
Then the best thing for them, is to get out of anything they can by claiming normal wear and tear, AND they don't have to fix anything the customer doesn't notice too much or can't be bothered with the hassle to get fixed. And anything you do complain about it's in their best interest to make it a tedious hassle and timewaste to get any complaints looked at - because most people will not have the option of going without the vehicle and just put up with it and go away.

I never buy from anywhere that uses that style of prepping vehicles, even though that's a lot of places these days. If they won't fix it before I buy it, I'm not buying it.

An old trick.
I was interested in a car at a dealer, the asshat wanted a deposit from me just to get it out of the car park for me to look at.
I walked, never went back to that shower.
Contrariwise, the Ford main dealer I bought my Escort van from couldn't do enough for me - I dealt with the business owner, no problem at all.

Some good advice above, I think I'd get the official emails flowing too but be very clear you want to reject the van as not fit for purpose as they've had more than enough chances to rectify the faults and a full refund and not more lies saying they'll fix the thing.
See if you can find the email for the CEO of the dealership involved and copy them in.
