Itching to get back in after the Xmas rest...started this job before the holiday, storm Arwen decided the roof looked better in the garden and tore the shingles off like tissue paper...550sq meters in total and will be finished in Charcoal grey mineral surface..rip the other half off next week if the weather picks up

ive been renewing my neighbors fence that came down in the big storm..have not fully chilled as kept busy for last week and a bit

my time off over xmax has been helping clear a close friends house she passed away early this month from cancer i promised id help the son clear it out so been doing that apart from xmas day and boxing day

boxing day i moved a shed to my garden

get back in to it tomorrow 8 x 13 amp plugs to fit and a back to back double socket to fit in a cavity wall

Im back at work tomorrow after having a cough and cold since Christmas day...... I guess I cant phone in sick tomorrow as I'm off on Friday again, so who would believe me ....annoyingly I seem to get ill when Im not at work, so Ive only had one day off due to sickness in the last 15 years.

when I first started working at the call centre 7 or 8 years ago a manager was trying to explain the procedure for booking holidays (which on our systems is more complex than it needs to be ) to about 20 of us. so I just turned round and said its easier just to phone in sick if you want a day off.....

....for some reason that went down like a lead balloon

I love it when I can do my job, currently bogged down in politics, the north/south divide (im running the only profitable southern site and a few in the south dont like it) dealing with my predecessors issues and trying to sort out issues on kit that was installed 13 years ago....

I haven't done anything resembling project management for a while

Its good to keep your options open, im also exploring the possibility of going back to school one day a week
