New complete drill arrived today, swapped the complete head unit over and it all seems sweet.

Only trouble I had was the motor pulley was a little high and causing some squeaking of the belts when it revolved.

These drills have a hex bolt on the end of the motor shaft to secure the pulley not a grub screw as in other youtube videos of pillar drill videos.

So I slackened the motor fixing bolts and slid the complete motor down, not sure if that correct?

So it's still not right then? It's not fit for purpose, Unbolt the thing and insist on a full replacement. They drop it off and take the old one away. why did you even swop the head unit over. You aren't making things easy for yourself are you?

They sent a complete drill, but instead of building the base and table again I just undid the top section (2 grub screws) and put it on my already built base.
It was fine really but I just fine tuned the height of the pulleys

Forgive me if I have got this wrong but you bought this new at full retail price and both drills have faults?
Or is it you buy one you get one free?

Hi yes it was bought new 4 weeks ago and the capacitor/ motor died. So they sent me a new replacement, I have both drills still

The second replacement was a little squeaky because the motor pulley was around 3mm high so I adjusted the motor on its fixings a little lower and the squeaking stopped.

I've watched videos on youtube about adjusting the heights on the pulleys but their drills had a grub screw on their pulleys which this did not

I wouldn't have swapped bits over, I'd have just built the new drill rather than messing around. If you start swapping stuff it just gives them an excuse to point the finger (I'd tell them where to get off even if they did...)

All this messing around to arrive where you should have been in the first place - now go drill some holes....
