Avoiding a green patio!

Tried that stuff last week, did nothing really.

Tried Domestos and water 50:50 yesterday, hardly touched it.
I think my whole back yard has concrete leprosy.

i only have experience of patio magic and the subject of the thread which is green mould/algae. you have what i think you call Lichen which is the next stage on, and a different beast to shift!

I thought it was just old dried algae, baked on for years, but it’s more like powdercoat now.

Not much will prevent it from going green unless you cut down nearby trees etc. This isn’t an option for you.

Several years ago I looked into a situation involving patio cleaning. Some of the best commercially available products are known to work all contain Hydrochloric Acid at a concentration of around 10%, diluted in water. Other “flavourings” and colourants May be added but generally superfluous and won’t aid cleaning.

Get yourself some HCL, a pump up garden sprayer, a stiff broom and a long hose pipe.

It’s very highly effective for your application but dangerous stuff.

Chemical resistant disposable suit, full length gloves (think marigold type), appropriate RPE and specs / full face shield.

Following what I learned on this job, I tried it at home. I can confirm it works very well and quick
