No experience of automatic MIG aluminum welding, however use an OTC MIG 135 which is really a robot power source and torch angle is important (near 75/80 or try from 90 and try out from that) as is 100% argon or argon helium. About 18 ltrs/m works ok for me by hand. travel speed on 1mm (ish) is in Mtrs / minute!
Aluminium is very prone to Porosity. Basically every MIG weld will be porous, some more than others. The first 3 rules are Clean, Clean and Clean again.
Molten Aluminium absorbs Hydrogen very easily but when it solidifies the Hydrogen is released again. Some gets trapped inside. The source of the Hydrogen is usually from the surface of the Plate or the wire. Aluminium oxidises in the atmosphere. The oxide attracts moisture which contains Hydrogen.
You need to eliminate as much Oxide as possible.
