I doubt you'll find one because the market for welding lenses above shade 13 must be quite small. You're talking about welding processes beyond 350A, suggesting specialised industries and big bucks.

Can you buy shade 15 conventional glass welding lenses? Schott don't make them, but they could probably be persuaded to, for a price.

If you want to see the difference between shades 11 and 13, set the shade to 11, put the helmet on and look at a halogen desk lamp and turn the control to 13. At 13 you can just about see the filament dimly. If you were trying to weld with a shade 13 filter when a shade 11 was suggested for the current you were using, you wouldn't be able to see what you were doing very well.

If you look at the handbooks for auto dark helmets, they have a fixed, very low level of UV/IR transmission and you adjust the shade to a comfortable level of visible light.

Maybe there's something wrong with your helmet. Is there a gap or hole which the light gets through?

Are there reflective surfaces, such as metal sheets, at the sides or behind you so that enough UV is reflected into the helmet from behind or beneath to cause problems? Maybe certain clothing can reflect UV into the mask from beneath.

Maybe cheap helmets are OK for most hobby users who only use them for two or three hours at a time but people who weld all day, or have sensitive eyes and skin, need the expensive ones?

Speedglas, and probably others, sell shaded cover plates (the inner IIRC) in +1 and +2 shades or something like that FWIW.

As said it's more likely to be a 'leak' in the mask or reflections giving you a tan (have managed to burn the back of my neck and ears before from reflections). The IR/UV protection with auto lenses is passive i.e. they offer their max protection (typically equivalent to shade 13 or higher) regardless of shade settings, on or off

Eye strain is perhaps more likely with a cheapy, thinking slower switching speed and/or less than stellar optical quality but set too dark or light eye strain can result regardless

Where did you get burnt then? I'm afraid i don't understand what it would have to do with your mask's shade setting?
