I was going to have a drive up to rufforth this morning, but the weather forecast put me off.
Its been blowing a hoolie all day, here

I have met a few people who's wife have no idea how many vehicles they have!

Winchwoman once asked how many vehicles we had i replied eleven, she asked if I thought that was excessive ( I lied about anther 3 and possibly one in a friends house) Luckily she is very tolerant.
I did hear about a chap who for 50 years tole his wife his old motor bikes where just cheap scrappers he had fixed up, when he passed she scrapped the lot!
A good friend sadly no longer with us labeled everything before he went!

cant see the issue with that, its when they have more than one wife when things can get complicated

Ive got a friend and he's not sure how many motorbikes he's got.....at the last count it was 85, but some of those are just a frame or a box of parts.

Few years ago I was collared in Pateley Bridge showground, the start of the Yorkshire Classic Trial, by a family of four.

Two young kids had seen me go past in the Challenger, towing a trailer with the bright yellow Dutton trials car - big V8 on over-run down the hill was making a nice burble and had attracted their attention.

In the course of the conversation about cars, trialling etc, numbers of cars came up . . . I had a few (nine at the time I think) and the two young kids from this family (5, 6 ish) seemed to know more about daddy's cars secreted her, there and everywhere, than mummy did until then . . .

My old neighbour (Charles) had a traction engine put in his name so the actual owner's wife wouldn't know he had spent a fortune buying and running it. The actual owner died, the wife found out about the traction engine, she went ballistic but all the paper's were in Charles name. He still has it.

All these 'collections' are all very well, but you need somewhere to keep them [presumably SORN'd], something not all of us have . Maybe just as well, though.....
