Autogyro camper

Finally got round to finishing off converting a Calidus Autogyro into a 1 man sleeping pod/ micro camper.



Its waiting on the canopy obscuring with film and the tow bar a coat of paint.

Road tested today behind a vw t5, very stable (no suprise there then)

I’ll take more shots tomorrow it was raining this aft

Too wide to be legal I think.

Edit: Yep, maximum 1m wide for trailers on a bike.

Thats going to go down well on the camp sites when the 5 lads next door are full of cheap larger...make sure your locked to the van

Is it possible to sleep in it with legs completely straight? It looks a bit short to me. Cool, though.

It’s 6’8" end to end inside

You might need to look into whether or not the wheels & bearings are rated for continuous use & high speeds. Going down a runway for a few minutes during takeoff & landing is very different to belting along a road for 2 hours.

They ran into similar problems with agricultural trailers when fast tractors like the JCB Fastrack came out. The wheel bearings were designed for max 20 mph, not 50 mph & they were failing regularly. Most trailers had to be retrofitted with HGV hubs & bearings to cope with the increased speed.
