Autodarkening mask

I've been given an old autodarkening welding mask - Speedglas APC 3/11 (HE 1/2/1 din) operated by a single 12v battery.
I've looked on the website but they all seem more modern looking than this one.
Is it likely to be any good - i'll be using it with a mig on my car resto.

As long as it functions OK, in that i mean darkens off quick enough.
One of the things i have found with auto helmets is when laying under a car and welding it gets in the way unless you have the car pushed well up in the air.
