So I’ve just been tinkering with my pillar drill. Wired the motor for delta (im sure anyway because wire colours are a bit faded).
Wired the switch back up and as I was looking at it I realised it seems to be some sort of magnetic starter switch. Not really touched one before. I wired it how I’m sure it should be. But I’m assuming because it’s a 380/440 volt switch on 230v it’s not got enough power to pull the contacts down, al it does is hum. If I do push it down manually the pillar drill works in forward as I have it switched but it won’t work I’m the reverse position on the VFD.
Just to add, I’m going to make a mounting plate to mount it next to the motor, just need to get it working first
