can these be set too light and hurt your eyes as new to welding and want it light as possible so i can see what im doing without getting arc eye, thanks
all helmets should protect you from arc-eye even when set on the lowest shade,
but most helmets start from shade 9 - 13. however you can get some which are lower, they won't give you arc-eye but can strain your eyes if set to low for the welding you are doing.
