Auto Cad- How to draw a 3d thread

Hi all

I am trying to create a thread on a piece of bar, not sure how to go about this has anyone done it? It drove me mad for hours last night..

I assume its a full version to be able to draw in 3d, so a lisp routine will do it for you try this one

autocad 2008 actually comes with a 3d spiral tool just draw the cross section select height , radius and number of coils and it does the rest for you easy but unbeleivably expensive
