Sadly I had to fail it
The n/s track rod end was so badly worn I think I could have pulled it apart
The rest of it was in decent order
The cable brakes worked very well
It has a chassis that would put a 110 Landy to shame lol

not bad fail at all given its age and appearance, id like something similar to restore jones's butchers type van off dads army would do

thought those old track rod ends was adjustable remove split pin from top and screw the top cap down to adjust

Hi, This is where the rationale for the MOT exemption falls down. They're saying it's not relevant, (and to a point it's not) and owners keep them up to scratch. He would of carried on using that oblivious if he hadn't needed an MOT for other reasons.

I wonder is the engine similar to the austin 7's, in that the crankshaft was only fed by splash lubrication and not pumped to the big ends as in modern cars. That along with the flathead and sidevalves, it must be about as simple an engine as it is possible to be.

It runs very well
The owner did the valves (re cut seats welded up valve faces)
Naturally side valve
It has a steady 30 psi oil pressure
It is doing the "Beamish" run this Sunday
