My biggest issue is all the park assisting and lane assist...don't get me wrong it's really amazing....
....but then when I get in my old Volvo I completely forget it doesn't have any of that....I reckon it might be deskilling my driving!!!
they don't even teach kids how to wire a mains plug nowadays!
I think you need to be a qualified electrician certified in the latest version of the yellow book to be allowed to wire a plug these days!
I like the way obvious things need to be labelled as dangerous....buy a kitchen blender and the first 10 pages of the instruction manual are all about the things you shouldn't put into it....hands/head/feet etc etc
Looks a bit weird: Daihatsu at No 1 and Rover at No 8, did not know you could still buy them. For actual recent car reliability have a look at this https://www.reliabilityindex.com/
Various ways to section the data on the site, by manufacture for instance. But be aware that the rating includes cost of repairs - hence a lot of exotica in the bottom 10!
Lies, damn lies and statistics. ....You can make statics prove anything......
mrs got a new car a while back think I posted a thread. Anyway it’s been burning oil as these engines are known to - known problem with the CAVE engine.
You have to book in for an oil consumption test before anything can be done by Audi.
Head office say it should be £60. Sod that I thought we will wait till it’s booked in for it’s service.
Took to Audi Harold wood. They wanted £80 to investigate a intermittent judder when pulling away (S-tronic gearbox) so I told them to scrap that. How much is the oil consumption test? An hours labour was the reply.
I asked how much that was...
£178.00!!!
Told them to scrap that too.
Anyway it’s been serviced. Missus gets a call.
Pollen filter due. £58.
I mean what does a pollen filter cost. £20 max? And how long to fit? 5 minutes. They want £58 No thanks!
Brake fluid change was a reasonable £65 - so we had that done.
Front coil spring has snapped (common issue) they want £386.00!!!
Got on to Audi parts supplier, genuine s line spring £61.55
Mental
Is it just down here Audi charge this kind of money?!
I suspect a small sample size is what puts Daihatsu and Rover where they are and Fords massive volumes will water down their disastersIf you look at the manufacturer link you can select different parts (drop down box next to "The Results"). Sample is up to 10 years/100k miles as that is what they will cover.
These guys are collecting info across thousands of cars - not just a local handful else the stats would be useless as you need a large sample size - else it would suffer from sampling bias or generalisation.
didnt Audi have a big problem on the petrol
only engines due to a batch of inferior piston rings ? the bean counters at it again
i should imagine !
was quoted £297 for bmw oil change
free valet though must be a bargain
did it meself for £50 robbin sods
Yes see my earlier post.
Lots of people very much out of pocket. There was a class action lawsuit against them in the USA - in the UK they kept denying there was a problem and the loyal(mug) Audi owners rolled over and took it!
Nothing wrong with that Try driving my Surf round town for a week or twoMate's Nissan Navara diesel auto was doing 22mpg and he was being very gentle with it!
Great economy You wouldn't do it though if you didn't enjoy itDoing 15k a year in a D3 does hit your wallet when it's averaging 28mpg
Thank God for that!! I thought old age was messing up my body functionsEven in hot countries aircon seats are horrid - nasty cold feeling spreading around your nether region - feels like you have wet yourself!
