the worst of the worst ive found is that lumiweld stuff and O/A reading between the lines i think rather than welding it your more soldering it back together with zinc
non structural, like manifolds ect they call it amalgum i think its anything thats not presious or magnetic gets wanged in pot and melted what pours out gets poured in the moulds whatever it is
Amalgam is what dentists use to fill teeth. Old timers used to call the zinc based stuff used for things like door handles monkey metal or misch metal. Aluminium is not porous unless there is something wrong with it. It can be made porous by adding gas at the casting stage. Contamination in the crack is what causes problems.
