My daughter bought a diesel A2 with less than 15k on the clock. When the car had done less than 22K on the clock the turbo failed. Having been purchased from a main Audi dealer the car was returned & the turbo returned replaced under warranty. Now with 30k on the clock (1 month out of warranty) the turbo has failed again but the dealer has washed their hands of the problem & subsequently it was determined that although the turbo was replaced, the engine oil & oil filter were not. Talks with Audi customer services ongoing.
Having lost faith in the main dealer the car was taken to a independent but Audi trained technician. On deep inspection of the engine the oil filter is heavily contaminated with carbon (something the independent has never seen in car with less than 60k on the clock) & suspects the engine may never have had a either oil or filter change. The independent garage technician even after replacing both oil & filter is reluctant to start the engine in case the carbon contamination blocks off the turbo oil supply again triggering another turbo failure.
Anybody had similar problems & how did they get round them. So far this exercise has cost approx £1300 but without a final solution in sight.
