Sorry I forgot to add the name of the collet set. It is Clarkson autolock but it seems incomplete compared to Adrian H photo. I knew the last one was a puller as mentioned in the initial thread as the question was about the first 4 photos! The collet set is available if anybody can use it. pm me if interested. The puller set is actually incomplete in that the large centre piece, which is hydraulic, does not have its matching attachment collar that screws on to it. The one in the box is just a three piece band clamp. I should have inspected the tool more keenly before I left a bid but that's life. I have another puller just like it and if it is the same I will have a spare! Thanks for your inputs lads.
The collet sets typically came with 4 collets, either imperial or metric. Looks like the box held 8 so typically both Imp and metric were there at some point.
The picture I posted shows two sizes.
Unless you are missing an internal piece? then not sure what is missing. Perhaps separate everything out and take a better picture of all pieces?
When these are used in a milling machine it does not have a tang on the end but a threaded hole as you have in the end, could be something like a 1/2" UNC or similar.
There were 4 spare holes in the storage box and the taper shaft has a screw thread in the narrow end and was wondering what it was for. I actually don't want anything but info!
As Adrian says, the thread is for the milling machines draw bar. These are usually supplied with metric collets or imperial collets or both. Hence 8 holes but 4 collets.
