Bloody good start, don't be afraid to play around with your machine settings. Practice is everything when I was doing my apprenticeship my service manager made me do 1/2hr per day of welding after work for the first year. I'm thanking him now (not at the time)
Thanks for the positive reply’s. I tried on what I’ve got which is 1.2 mm thick as that’s what we tend to use for mot welding repairs. I wish my service manager at the time of my apprenticeship had of spent time with me teaching me to weld but where I was it was all about time.
Thicker material helps. The welds are a bit thin and high. Up the power and slow your travel speed down. Good start though. Use two hands and get as stable and steady as possible. It all helps. Prop your hands or body if you can.
