Assembling regulator to AP bottle. help needed?

Right,

Got myself a ferrimax 7 bottle from AP yesterday and today my regulator turned up pronto from weldeqiup.

Now here comes the dilemma. I cant seem to find a way of connecting the regulator to the bottle.

I have pics of all the bits i have and would appreciate it if people cant 'fit it together' for me IYSWIM.

So if i number the pics can you help me by doing a 1 is connnected to 2 and 4 is connected to 6 etc

The brass adaptor from AP is the regulator. Screw the hose onto that, clip it onto the bottle, turn it on and away you go.

okay so do i need the twin gauge regulator?

The AP bottle has a built in regulator doesn't it?

Yeah it does but being new to this i assumed they all had the little gauge with full to empty on it

The twin gauge reg you have is no use to you with that cylinder.
As no idea says, you don't use a regulator with those Integra cylinders, the coupler is the regulator, yours is 15 litres per minute (which is a bit high imo). The small gauge on the cylinder in pic 5 is the contents gauge.

As "no idea" and Woz say, connect the 15 lpm regulator thing to the hose then onto the bottle fitting (pic 4).

They probably supplied you with the 15 lpm regulator so you have to buy twice as much gas off them.

TBH they gave me that one as it was the only one they had but i'll ring them tommorow so tyr and get a lower one.

IIRc they do a 12l/min one. would that be okay or can i go lower?

Bit lower would be OK. I generally run between 8 and 10 L/min.

Yep, it's an "Integra" cylinder, ie.the gas regulator is integral to the cylinder so you won't need the seperate twin gauge regulator supplied Tim
You'll still need the pipe adaptor though to step up the little plastic pipe on the back of the machine.
Those cylinders are a pain in the backside in my opinion, having no control over output pressure & having to buy the special AP adaptors.

I have to say to anyone reading this thread weldequip was not made aware of the bottle type only the supplier so it was by no means his fault. I'm new to this so i just assumed the bottles were all the same. Now i know i guess and anyone using the search function in future to find out how to connect there 'integra' type bottle to a welder knows also

picture 6 shows the side of the regulator. wont the regulator you bought off steve fit in there? just a thought

Nope as there is no internal thread in the hole just a thread round the outside.
