As per the title please chaps. A pal of mine has a small job needing doing on a Land Rover roof rack, 4 plates welding in. Needs TIG (which I don’t have) as the plates and rack are aluminium. There are also 4 mounting clamps which need a bit of fettling with TIG, these are stainless. He’s willing to pay a sensible price. Anyone over that way who could do this please?

Sure. See below. The rack was made for a truck cab so there are 2 mount plates already in place circled in red. Needs 4 more welding on in the blue circled areas as it will be going on a hardtop. He has the parts ready to weld in.
The last image is the stainless bits, the one on the left needs welding to make it look like the one on the right.

    That rack is nicely made.

Must be someone up that end of the country who can do it for you.

I live in hope, and yes they are great racks. Hard to find though as they usually come with a 1500 quid roof tent hence having to modify the one that came up.

Brads right it’s beautifully made and welded.
Don’t cheap on the modifications and spoil it. Pay the right man the right money to keep the weld quality equal to the rest of it.
That’s the sort of private job I’d definitely put myself in for but. A nice job but sadly I aint close enough.

Yeah, wasn’t sure if you would be up for it or might know someone else local?

Could have a word with Torton Bodies, they do all sorts of aluminium welding, not sure if this will be in their wheelhouse though :)
