Hi All, I've hired an outfit to do repairs on my mums roof. Average 3 bed detached, I'm not sure when it was built but guess mid / late sixties. The roofer has had to get reclaimed tiles to match, and replace rotten timber along 2 sides, but the different guys doing the soffits have come back with the statement below.
If it turns out to be cement based asbestos any ideas on what additional costs that might incur?
If it turns out to be asbestos insulation board I'm guessing that will need to be a specialist disposal outfit?
Getting me old mum up the scaffolding to have a go is not an option - although she is eager to save the cash!
"We had to check exposed soffit today as it looked like it maybe asbestos. (this was only revealed now they are exposed.)
A small sample has been taken away for testing and we have requested next day results. We will keep you updated but if this cement based asbestos this will incur additional costs. If it is asbestos insulation boards we cannot touch it."
