ASA filament.

I have put the ABS printing to one side for now, I will revisit it again in the future. I'm considering ASA to try instead but am a bit surprised at the cost of it. Are there any recommendations for brand? How about printing tips / successes?

I've nothing helpful to add at all, but I'd be interested in how you get on. I bought some ASA (prusament) at the same time as my printer as I want to try it, but I haven't got as far as building an enclosure yet so too early to say how it goes.

Thanks, but I don't really have anything in mind at the moment. I've only had my 3D printer since late December so I'm very much just experimenting at the moment. I'm only really interested in properly functional stuff (not lady phone holders ) and having read about the various filaments that seemed plausible with my printer, it sounded like the three that would be most useful would be PETG, ASA (or ABS) and maybe very occasionally one of the flexible ones. PETG sounded the easiest by far, so I bought lots of that and it's been fine for everything I've done, but while the delivery charge was covered it made sense to grab a reel of ASA at the same time.

A roll of ASA has arrived and I am doing a direct comparison between that and ABS. The ABS print was with dried filament, but only 3DLAC on the bed. It warped quite badly of course and also had some cracking, although not as much as I expected. Probably as a result of the drying.

The ASA version has just started, but as a 6 hour print, it will be a while to show the result.
